I’m looking at a number of transmitters and it seems yours are kind of expensive.  Why?

Many transmitters may appear at first pass to be less expensive than ours but when you look a little deeper you will see:  Our transmitters include a 3-year warranty, and we include a built-in standard analog audio processor and stereo generator in our T products (add on cost to other brand transmitters +$2,000).  When all is said and done, our product cost is in line with other high-end transmitter manufacturers.

Do you carry any used products?

We do from time to time have used equipment become available but normally we not see many used Crown transmitters.  The majority of the time the used units we do have are utilized as short term rentals and Service loaners.

Do you guys produce anything besides Transmitters/Exciters/Translators?

As of now we stay with what we are best at (see above) but that does not mean that, if a technology or product comes along that we can produce to "Crown Quality" specifications and it will have a measurable positive impact to our customers, that we won't look seriously at production.  NOTE: Check our website for a list of performance upgrade options that offer Crown owners a path to an internal Omnia 3-band processor, digital system control, remote transmitter control, and other valuable features.

I’ve heard a lot about HD Radio IBOC.  Is Crown going to be providing HD (IBOC) products?

We are currently developing linear, HD-ready versions of our power amps and doing preliminary work on low- power HD transmitters and translators.  As the market develops, Crown HD systems will play an important part.
